World famous hill shrine Tirumala was decorated with all hues and several lights illuminated cut outs for the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi. The entire temple complex was colorfully decorated with huge varieties of flowers adding more grandeur to the festival.
Immense importance is attached to the festival which in local parlance is also known as ‘Mukkoti Ekadasi’ as it is widely believed that one who passes through the divine Vaikunta dwaram – the inner-most prakaram encircling the sanctum sanctorum on this day attains salvation.
