TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal praises services of Srivari Sevaks

Newly appointed TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal today said that Srivari Sevaks were the vanguard of the TTD service to devotees and also a major instrument of sanatana Hindu Dharma pracharam. Complimenting the Srivari Sevaks for their commendable voluntary services to the visiting pilgrims in Tirumala, Singhal said Srivari Seva has emerged one of the chief supporting organs to TTD in pilgrim crown management and suggested the services of the sevaks should enhance further so that they could be better utilised by TTD in various other areas where pilgrims interface was more.

Addressing a orientation session for the Srivari Sevaks and Scouts & Guides held at the Asthana Mandapam, TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal said, “Srivari seva volunteers hailing from different parts of the country render voluntary services to the visiting pilgrims of Tirumala for a period of seven days. Since inception 16 years ago 8 lakh 12 thousand Srivari Sevaks, including 5 lakh women sevaks have provided service at Tirumala in various sections. Sevaks from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Maharastra are rendering their services to pilgrims daily. The srivari sevaks keep on coming round the year and on an average on any given day there will be not less than 3000 Srivari sevaks available at the service of pilgrims.  The services of Srivari Sevaks are best utilised by TTD in Vaikuntham I and II, Kalyana Katta, PAC I, II and III, Annaprasadam complex, queue lines, compartments, Vigilance etc.

Later the EO said, A Rs.72 crore Srivari Seva sadanam is being set up at Tirumala to provide infrastructure for training and orientation for Srivari Sevaks. To further enhance and fine tune their skills, the Srivari Sevaks were being given crash training under the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Central Trust.   He urged them to utilise the opportunities provided under Swachh bharat program to improve the hygiene and make Tirumala pollution free.”
