Tirumala temple closed due to total Lunar Eclipse

The Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala was closed at 11 am on Wednesday in connection with total Lunar eclipse. The lunar eclipse is scheduled to occur between 5.18pm to 8.41pm. As per the tradition, the doors close 6 hours prior to the eclipse.

The temple doors will reopen after the eclipse at 9:30pm. After the completion of “shuddhi” and other sanctifying rituals the devotees will be allowed for darshan.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has cancelled Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam, Vasantotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva and monthly Pournami Garuda Seva scheduled for January 31, following lunar eclipse.
