Theft at Tirumala cottage; 25gm gold, 4 cell phones & 28K cash stolen

Thefts and missing children have become a common feature in pilgrim Hill shrine of Tirumala. In view of daily foot fall of over lakh people to the temple town, there has been alarming increase in anti social activities.

Last night theft in Tirumala SNC cottages, room no 369 A & B. 25gm gold, 4 cell phones & 28 thousand cash belongs to deevotes from Srikakulam & Karim nagar. As per sources incident took place at 10.00PM last night. Police said that the two incidents of the thefts in The TTD cottages were of similar nature. Complaint has been registered by II town police.

However, the devotees are complaining that they have been hurt with the rude behavior of police. One of the pilgrim said, we went to the cottage after darshan and found that our cash,mobiles and valuables have been stolen. We went to Police station to file the complaint, but the police insulted us with their funny talk and misbehaviour. Devotees are fuming about the negligent response of the police.

One of the victims, a Defense employee, said that his mobile had a very important information and now that the robbers stolen the phone and his job is in danger now. We do not leave Tirumala, until the justice is done, we will sit for an agitation in front of the temple and will inform inhabitants of our area that there were no security in Tirumala and make them all afraid to come to the hill.
