Sri Lanka PM Sri Mahinda Rajapaksa prays at Tirumala

The Honourable Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Sri Mahinda Rajapaksa, accompanied by his cabinet minister Sri Arumugan Thondaman and his son Sri Yoshita Rajapaksa offered prayers in the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara on Tuesday morning.

The Foreign Dignitary reached Mahadwaram at 5:50am and was welcomed by AP Minister Sri P Ramachandra Reddy, EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal and Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy.

EO also explained the VIP dignitary about the Retractable Roof laid atop from Padikavili to Dhwaja Mandapam to shield pilgrims from inclement weather conditions. Later the Sri Lankan Prime Minister had darshan of Lord along with his entourage during Astadala Pada Padmaradahana and VIP Break.

After darshan, the Veda pundits offered Vedaseervachanam in Ranganayakula Mandapam to the Lankan Prime Minister. He was later presented theertha prasadams.
