Sahasra Kalasabhishekam observed with religious fervour

The temple management of Lord Venkateswara has conducted special Sahasra Kalasabhishekam on Sunday, to commemorate the historical occasion of the gifting of silver idol of Lord, Sri Bhoga Srinivasa Murthy by the Pallava queen Samavai in 614 AD.

Immense sanctity is attached to the idol which is regarded as one among the Pancha Murthies which is also known as ‘Katuka Bera’ in Agamic parlance.

An inscription about the donation can also be found on the walls of the inner-most vimana prakaram of the hill temple.

The special ritual was observed at Bangaru Vakili between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. after the completion of religious formalities.

HH Tirumala Pedda Jiyangar, Chinna Jiyar Swamy, EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Temple DyEO Sri Harindranath and others were also present.
