Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam performed in Tirumala with religious fervour

The periodical cleansing ritual “Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam” in connection with Vilambi Nama Ugadi was performed with religious fervour on Tuesday in Tirumala temple.

All the interior walls and pillars inside the main sanctum sanctorum of the hill temple complex were applied with a rich herbal mixture containing high quality sandal wood powder, refined camphor, turmeric and other ingredients. While the entire process was underway, the presiding deity was covered with a white veil.

It took over three hours for cleansing of temple and puja utensils. Later the veil on Mula Virat was removed and special puja was performed.

TTD EO Sri Anilkumar Singhal, JEO Tirumala Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju, Temple DyEO Sri Harindranath and other officers, temple staffs were also present.
