Karthika Banabhojanam held with religious fervour in Tirumala

Karthika Vanabhojanam was celebrated in Tirumala on the last Sunday of the Karthika masam, said to be the favourite of Lord Shiva and Vishnu at the Paruveta mandapam.

TTD made elaborate arrangements of annaprasadam and water to the scores of devotees who thronged the premises for Karthika Vanabhojanam, the traditional community dining which is considered to be most important in the month of Karthika.

Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju said commenced the serving of Annaprasadam to devotees in the Vanabhojanam. Speaking on this occasion he said that the festival was in vogue some 400 years ago and was reinstated from 2010 onwards.

The devotees who thronged the Nakshatram Vanam premises of Paruveta Mandapam enjoyed the delicacies served by Annaprasadam department underneath the Amla trees.

The devotional songs by Annamacharya Project artistes remained as an added attraction for the religious event.

CVSO Sri A Ravikrishna, Temple DyEO Sri Kodanda Rama Rao, Annaprasadam DyEO Sri Venugopal, SE II Sri Ramachandra Reddy, VGO Sri Ravinra Reddy and others were also present
