The religious procedure, Asthanam held at the famous hill shrine Triumala on Thursday morning. The ‘Deepavali Asthanam’ was preceded by special rituals like Vishesha Padi and presentation of new silk Vastrams to the main deity followed by a procession taken out around the Vimana Prakaram inside the temple by Tirumala Pedda Jeeyar accompanied by Chinna Jeeyar, temple priests and and other TTD officials. Later, the asthanam was observed with the deities seated atop a golden palanquin opposite Garudalwar inside the sanctum sanctorum.
Special pujas including Rupee Coin Harati and Pratyeka Harati were offered to the Lord amidst chanting of vedic hymns by temple priests. After the Theertham, shadari and prasadams were offered to the bhaktas who took part in the festival.
