Create Spiritual and friendly environment for pilgrims appeals Additional EO Dharma Reddy

As Tirumala is revered as the religious capital for all Hindus present across the world, the native traders and shop keepers of Tirumala ought to keep pleasant and be cordial within their gesture towards multitude of visiting pilgrims and enhance image of holy precincts said TTD Additional Executive Officer Sri AV Dharma Reddy.

He was addressing a review meeting with the local traders, shopkeepers and bank officials at the Asthana Mandapam in Tirumala and urged them to be a part in building up eco-friendly environs in Hill town to which the local shop owners also extended their support to TTD in it’s pilgrim initiatives.

The Additional EO said devotees are contributing crores worth coins to Srivari hundi. TTD is contemplating to hand over coins to traders in form of packets of Rs.500, Rs.200,Rs.100 and Rs50 which can be given to devotees by traders. Very soon this system will be implemented by TTD in all places where cash transactions takes place.

The additional EO advised traders to follow the TTD guidelines and not to violated licence rules of TTD.

Contending that TTD had banned use of plastic covers in Tirumala, he said the traders should gradually stop using them. Soon even the use of laddu covers would also be banned and as an alternate either jute or cotton bags would replace laddu covers in future, he observed.

He said in March TTD officials would conduct survey of all shops for streamlining the system. He appealed to shopkeepers to cooperate with TTD administration by not selling banned or prohibited items in their outlets.

TTD DyEO for Revenue and Panchayat Sri Vijaysaradhi, AEO Revenue Sri Ramaraju, several bank officials and local traders participated.
