Chaturmasa Sankalpa Deeksha of Jeetangars begins in Tirumala

The   Sankalpam of Chaturmasa Diksha of HH Sri Pedda Jeeyangar and HH Sri Chinna Jeeyangar Swamy began at Tirumala on Sunday.

Earlier during the day Diksha Sankalpam was conceived by both the Senior and Junior Pontiffs of Tirumala in Pedda Jeeyangar Mutt. They performed Kalasa Sthapana, Kalasa Puja and Vishwaksenaradhana etc. Later they visited Swamy Pushkarini, Sri Varahaswami temples before paving visit to Srivari temple.

They were traditionally received by TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, Additional EO Sri AV Dharma Reddy at temple Mahadwaram. The senior pontiff was presented with Melchat Vastram while Junior Pontiff with Nulchat vastram.

Speaking later after darshan, Sri Sri Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swami said the Chaturmasam Diksha conceived by Sri Ramanujacharya had a significant place in the Sri Vaishnava traditions. As per legends, it signalled the four months of yoga Nidra of Sri Mahavishnu from Ashada Suddha Ekadasi to Karthika Shuddha Ekadasi.

Sri Chinna Jeeyarswami said the Sankalpam of Chaturmasam Diksha was ordained on the auspicious day of Guru Poornima 

Later, the Jeeyarswamis felicitated the TTD EO and Additional EO at the Pedda Jeeyarswami Matham.

TTD Board Member Sri Sekhar Reddy,  CVSO Sri Gopinath Jatti, Temple DyEO Sri Harindranath,  VGO Sri Manohar, OSD Sri Pala Seshadri, and other senior officials participated.
