Brahmotsavams begins grandly with Dwajarohanam

The nine-day Brahmotsavams of Tirumala Venkateswara began with the Dhwajarohanam –the divine flag hoisting ceremony in Tirumala on Thursday.

A specially designed flag with the image of Garudalwar was hoisted on the temple pillar located in Dhwaja mandapam in auspicious Kuburan between 4pm and 4.45pm during Makara Lagnam.

The priests chanted relevant mantras when the religious ceremony is underway. The significance of this fete is that it acts as an invitation to the deities of all worlds to take part in the mammoth event of annual brahmotsavams of the Supreme Lord Venkateswara.
